Chosa Kaikan|ちょうさ会館

Chosa Kaikan|ちょうさ会館
‘Chosa’ refers to the traditional mountain cart used in these parts. It is also known as Taikodai, as it is used to carry decorations and drums. The ‘Chosa Festival’ is a traditional event of the Kanonji area that dates back to the Edo period.  The ‘kakikurabe’ is a must-see, as the cart is raised up energetically by participants. Inside, you will find pictures, drawings and audio materials explaining the history of the festival. You can also see impressive images of the festival on a 300 inch screen.
