This Sunday market reflects 300 years of Tosa history, since 1690. Located just next to Kochi Castle, the Otesuji extends east for 1.3 km from the castle gate. The market is held every Sunday. Between April and September, the market is open from 5 am to 6 pm. From October to March, opening time is 6 am to 5 pm. Each market day sees approximately 17,000 visitors. There are about 430 shops in the market, selling freshly picked fruit and vegetables, Kochi gourmet items, plants, metal ware, knives, and others.
